Frequently asked questions
Is REAX live?
No. REAX is in development. What exists today is a provisional design specification (revision 0.6) and a private reference implementation that runs a local rehearsal: three simulated miners and one validator exchanging signed requests over loopback, with synthetic traffic and no chain. No REAX subnet is registered on the Bittensor testnet or mainnet, and no System1 traffic routes through REAX. See the roadmap for what comes next.
Is there a REAX token? Will I be paid?
REAX runs no token sale and sells nothing to investors. REAX is being built as a Bittensor subnet. On Bittensor, the protocol distributes emissions to miners and validators according to validator weights; that is the network's incentive mechanism. REAX makes no promises about rewards, their amount or their value, and running hardware costs money. Emissions are separate from customer billing, which is in fiat. Nothing on this site is investment advice.
Can I bring my own model?
Not in v1. The v1 model catalog is closed: each public model name maps to a signed list of approved models, and miners compete on serving those faithfully, reliably and with verified capacity. Planned for later: a finetuning service that produces custom fine-tuned decision models, with miners competing to produce better fine-tuned models. It is not yet specified and needs a new major version of the specification.
What is the difference between the two tiers?
The GDPR tier is for contracted, EU-established operators that process data in the EU. They are admitted off-chain through business verification, an operator contract and a data-processing agreement, followed by a signed admission record; chain registration alone is never enough. The open tier is permissionless: anyone with a registered hotkey who passes conformance can take part, but it is not approved for personal or GDPR-tier data. Both tiers are measured the same way. Compare the tiers.
What data do open-tier miners see?
Synthetic traffic only, for now. Every request on the open tier is generated by validators to measure serving. Open-tier miners never receive personal or GDPR-tier data. Real global-tier traffic would need signed System1 acceptance, legal review, sampled re-execution switched on and capacity measurement live first; none of these is in place today.
How do validators check that a miner serves the approved model?
Validators inject scored test items through the gateway on the same path as real traffic, and the envelope a miner receives carries no probe marker. Answers are compared against a reference; a substitute that drifts beyond tolerance (placeholder values today) is frozen, then zeroed after a second failing window. For real traffic, a small sampled fraction of requests will also be re-run on a reference processor. That check is designed but switched off until the reference processor is admitted and listed as a DPA subprocessor, System1 acceptance covers it and a privacy review approves it. How miners earn weight.
How does REAX relate to System1 Models?
System1 Models is a separate product that offers Jev-compatible decision models behind one API. REAX is planned as the decentralized network behind System1's global tier. System1 owns customer ingress, tenant policy and billing; REAX does not route any System1 traffic today.
Who operates REAX?
The REAX website and development work are operated by productivity-boost.com, a company in Germany. Subnet ownership and mainnet operating arrangements are not announced. Company details are in the imprint.
Where is the code?
The code is private while REAX is pre-release. The developer docs describe the pre-release miner and validator path ahead of testnet. There is no public miner package or live join command yet.
How do I get involved?
EU operators interested in the GDPR tier can send an operator inquiry. Open-tier miners and validators can follow the pre-release quickstart. Do not buy hardware on the assumption of admission or income.
